Child care

Child care

In Spain, early childhood education (from 0 to 6 years old) is voluntary, since compulsory education begins at the age of 6. Until that age, it is divided into two parts: first cycle (0-3 years) and second cycle (3-6 years). The first cycle is usually offered in daycare centers, while the second cycle is usually managed by the schools that offer primary education.

    • Daycare centers: There are public daycare centers, but in general, there is a high demand so places are quite limited and their fee will depend on the per capita income. On the other hand, if you opt for a private one, the minimum price is usually around 300 euros.

    • If you want another option, there is also the possibility of hiring a sitter or nanny through internet portals such as sitly or topnanny.
