Undergraduates with a scientific vocation meet at the Institute for Molecular Science

The Institute for Molecular Science (ICMol) concludes this Friday a new edition of its #SummerCampusICMol, the introductory days to research that gather every year a selection of undergraduate students from different areas -Chemistry, Physics, Chemical Engineering or Biologyrelated to this Research Institute of the Universitat de València, located in the Scientific Park of the academic institution.

The school is designed for students who wish to enter the world of science and research in fields related to nanoscience and molecular materials, disciplines of great impact in various sectors such as biomedicine, electronics, pharmaceuticals or materials, to give some examples. Participants attend lectures by researchers and take part in activities in the centre’s own laboratories.

The activity takes place in a relaxed atmosphere and is aimed at dissemination and attracting scientific vocations. Students interested in starting a research career can fin continuity in ICMol’s doctoral programmes or in the interuniversity masters in Nanoscience and Nanotechnology -one of the most prestigious in Europe - or in Theoretical Chemistry and Computational Modelling, which has the international Erasmus Mundus seal of approval.

The ICMol’s research leadership has earned it accreditation as the María de Maetzu Unit of Excellence from the Spanish Ministry of Science and Innovation, and qualification as a Scientific and Business Innovation Unit (CUIE) from the Valencian Innovation Agency (AVI).
