A total of 110 persons from Andorra, Italy (Alguer), Catalonia and the Valencian Country have participated in the third conference on Ornithology of Catalan-speaking territories (COTPC 2022), held in the Burjassot/Paterna Campus of the Universitat de València. The seminars consisted in more than 50 oral presentations, 23 posters, a photographic exhibition, two trips and five workshops.
The opening ceremony was organised by Joan Ferré Manzanero, lecturer of the Universitat de València and president of the organising committee, together with representatives of the Castellón (Joan Castell) and Alicante (Germán López) provinces, as well as the coordinator of the Scientific Committee, Toni Polo Aparisi, of the Valencian Society of Ornithology.
This conference was created with the aim of sharing the work that not only different researchers are carrying out, but also ornithological groups and organisations throughout Catalan-speaking territories, that cover areas with cultural and linguistic bonds, and a geographic location of great interest for the study of birds. The COTPC 2022 guiding thread was "distribution and evolution of bird populations", to which a particular attention has been devoted.
The organisations that participated in the conference organisation were: The Universitat de València, the Valencian Society of Ornithology, the Ornithology Catalan Institute, ICOcells University of Alacant, Au Ornithology Group, Catalan Studies Institute of the Alguer Delegation, Andorran Studies Institute, Groupe Ornithologique du Roussillon, Menorca Ornithological Society and Balear Ornithological Group of Mallorca.
