The objective of the information sessions on the Marie Sklodowska-Curie Actions Postdoctoral Fellowships 2024 was to encourage research staff at the Universitat de Valčncia to apply for the programme, either as supervisors or as fellows.
The International R+D+I Section of the Transfer and Innovation Service of the Universitat de Valčncia has organised three information sessions this spring on, among others, the Marie Sklodowska-Curie Actions Postdoctoral Fellowships (MSCA-PF-2024). The Marie Sklodowska-Curie Actions represent the European Union’s main instrument for supporting the training and professional development of researchers worldwide by funding excellent doctoral networks, individual postdoctoral projects and collaborative projects. In particular, Postdoctoral Fellowships (PF) are aimed at postdoctoral researchers of any nationality who wish to carry out their research in countries other than their usual country of work. The objective of these fellowships is to enhance their creative and innovative potential of researchers, to facilitate the acquisition of new skills and to facilitate the development of their careers through international, interdisciplinary and intersectoral mobility.
The sessions were held on the three UV campuses with the objective of disseminating information to as many people as possible and of adapting the content to the specific research areas of each campus. The Tarongers session was held on 6 March 2024 , the Burjassot session on 24 May and the Blasco Ibáńez session on 31 May ( Although the presentations differed between campuses, the three sessions started with a presentation by Joel González, Delegate of the Principal for Strategic Research Actions and member of the UV’s HRS4R work group, on the Human Resources Strategy for Researchers.
In the three sessions, González explained the significance of the HR Excellence in Research certification and engaged with the attendees on the merits of attaining this seal of excellence for the UV. The Delegate of the Principal emphasised the advantages of the UV aligning its recruitment policies with the principles of the European Charter for Researchers and the Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers. The implementation of the HRS4R confers benefits on both the research staff and the university community, as well as the UV itself. These benefits include prestige and success when applying for funding from EU programmes.
The UV’s pursuit of this recognition has necessitated a sustained commitment over an extended period, with a focus on enhancing cross-sectional research management policies. The UV is currently engaged in the process of renewing this recognition and awaits the visit of the evaluation committee this summer.
In conclusion, Joel González presented the recently updated website for the HRS4R strategy at the UV. The website has been updated to facilitate the dissemination of information related to the Human Resources Strategy for Researchers at the UV. Among the most significant aspects of this webpage, González highlighted the ’Welcome guides’ section for new researchers, which provides practical information to facilitate the adaptation of researchers who join the UV. This contributes to the recruitment of talent.
