The INCLIVA Health Research Institute, of the University Clinical Hospital of Valencia, has organised this Thursday, February 15 at the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry of the University of Valencia (UV) an open and interactive day on childhood cancer aimed at associations, families and people interested in knowing the current state of research in this pathology.

The most common types of childhood cancer are acute leukaemias and central nervous system tumours. Together they account for about 50% of tumours in children and adolescents. The event will be held on the occasion of International Childhood Cancer Day, from 5 to 7:30 p.m., in the Microscope Room 2 of the Faculty of Medicine of the UV, where the INCLIVA Paediatric Solid Tumours Translational Research Group works, promoter of this initiative.

"This is an informative and practical day in which participants will be able to become familiar, for example, with the processing of samples for optical microscopy, artificial tumours and real-time monitoring of tumour cells in culture. It will also be an opportunity for them to ask the researchers directly and help them incorporate the patient’s perspective into their studies", summarises Rosa Noguera, professor in the Department of Pathology at the UV (area of Histology) and coordinator of the research group ResPediaTu from the University of Valencia.

During the day, the microscopes of the Department of Pathology of the Faculty of Medicine of the UV, different rigidities of the artificial matrices used to manufacture artificial tumours, computers to
