The Network of Valencian Science Parks has announced the rePCUV 2023 Awards, which recognise the best knowledge-based business and entrepreneurial initiatives. The competition, organised in this 5th edition by the University of Valencia Science Park, is supported by the Valencian Innovation Agency. The deadline for applications is 9 June.
To recognise and reward the activity of entrepreneurial and business initiatives based on their growth, innovative character, business strategy and contribution to the environment. This is the aim of the awards that the Network of Valencian Science Parks organise for the 5th consecutive year.
This call comprises three categories. The first category, "Spin-off Award", seeks to recognize companies promoted by Teaching and Research Staff (PDI), PhDs or doctoral students that have been created from the exploitation of research results and are linked to any of the Valencian science parks.
The second category, the "Start-up Award" category is aimed at innovative companies promoted by students or alumni of any of the Valencian public universities. These companies must be located in or linked to any of the Valencian science parks and be incorporated after June 30, 2018.
Lastly, the "Business-University Collaboration Award" is aimed at companies that participate with any of the Valencian public universities in R&D programs and/or projects whose results have contributed to establish a close and continued relationship of collaboration, as well as to the development of the Valencian economy.
A first prize and a maximum of two runners-up prizes will be awarded in each category. Eventhough the awards are honorary, the organisation of this year - Science Park of the University of Valencia (PCUV) - will provide the winner projects access to the ’ Transfiere 2024 ’ European Meeting on Science, Technology and Innovation, as well as their participation on the international technologic meeting ’ Valencia Digital Summit 2023 ’.
With these awards, the rePCV seeks to contribute to the development and consolidation of companies created and developed with the support of the five Valencian science parks -Science Park of the Miguel Hernández University; Espaitect Science and Technology Park of the Jaume I of Castellon University; Science Park of the University of Valencia; Polytechnic City of Innovation of the Technical University of Valencia, and Science Park of the University of Alicante.
The aim of the rePCV is to increase the region’s wealth, promote innovation culture and encourage the competitiveness of the knowledge-generating companies and institutions installed or associated to the science parks, as well as to promote the diversification and the growth of a new business and industrial fabric of quality, differentiated and commited to the social responsibility policies.
The winners will be announced through publication on the web. The formal presentation of the awards will take place at the Marie Curie auditorium of the Science Park of the University of Valencia (PCUV), on Friday 30 June 2023.
