The University of Valencia is participating in an international project on misinformation related to science on digital platforms. One of the studies being conducted within the framework of this project is an analysis of public perceptions of climate change in Spain and Brazil. To gather data, a survey on the topic has been launched: www.bit.ly/3XxIgQH. The initiative is coordinated by Carolina Moreno Castro (University of Valencia), Luisa Massarani (Oswaldo Cruz Foundation, Brazil) and Thaiane Oliveira (Fluminense Federal University, Brazil).

The primary aim of this study is to compare the perceptions of Spanish and Brazilian citizens on issues related to climate change. This survey is part of a larger project entitled Global Flows of Scientific Misinformation: Comparative Analysis of Controversies and Strategies to Combat Misinformation on Digital Platforms, led by the Casa Oswaldo Cruz and the Oswaldo Cruz Foundation (COC/Fiocruz) and the National Institute of Public Communication of Science and Technology (INCT-CPCT) of Brazil.

The proposal involves six Brazilian institutions and the universities of Costa Rica, Quilmes (Argentina), Stellenbosch (South Africa), Valencia, Exeter (UK) and Utrecht (Netherlands). In Brazil, apart from the aforementioned entities, other participants include the Federal Fluminense University, the State University of Rio de Janeiro, the Federal University of Goiás, the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio Grande do Sul and the Federal University of Paraíba.

The survey has already been completed in Brazil and the current goal is to have people in Spain from different autonomous communities, age groups and ideologies participate in the questionnaire, which takes approximately 15 minutes to complete.
