The Translational Chemical Biology Group, within the Molecular Oncology Programme, is seeking for a talented and motivated Postdoctoral Researcher.
Roles and responsabilities of the position:

• To design, synthesize, and implement novel chemical tools for the creation of advanced linkers and bioconjugates.
• To comprehensively evaluate the chemical and biophysical properties of novel bioconjugates, including stability, solubility, conjugation efficiency, and structural characterization using advanced analytical techniques.
• To design and execute preliminary in vitro cell-based assays to evaluate the biological activity of novel bioconjugates, specifically assessing cytotoxicity, cellular uptake mechanisms, and intracellular trafficking pathways.
• To carry out industry-funded research projects.
• To assist with grant writing, scientific reports, and grant management.
• To provide technical support for ongoing research projects as needed.

Criterios de evaluación

- Ph.D. in Chemistry, Natural Sciences, or a related field.

• Essential qualifications include at least 10 years of research experience in organic synthesis and medicinal chemistry, proven expertise in protein bioconjugation, and a strong record of interdisciplinary research and collaboration. The candidate must have at least five years of post-doctoral experience.
• Technical skills:
  Core Research Expertise:
• Organic Chemistry: Extensive background in organic synthesis, methodology development, and structural elucidation. Experienced in the use of NMR, mass spectrometry, and other spectroscopic methods for compound characterization.
• Peptide Chemistry: Proficient in the synthesis, modification, and characterization of peptides and peptidomimetics, including solid-phase synthesis.
• Bioconjugation: Expertise in the covalent linking of biomolecules using diverse chemical strategies. Application of bioorthogonal reactions for selective modification of biomolecules in complex systems.
• Vaccine Development: Significant experience in the design and assembly of vaccine candidates.
• Medicinal Chemistry: Application of chemical principles to the design and synthesis of molecules with potential therapeutic applications.
• A competitive level of English (spoken and written) is required. A competitive level of Spanish (spoken and written) is desired but not compulsory.
• Good communication skills.
