With the commitment to promote a more inclusive scientific dissemination, the Institute of Corpuscular Physics (IFIC, UV-CSIC) begins this academic year a new collaboration with the RED Social Project Association, a non-profit organisation dedicated to improving the quality of life of people with disabilities and their families.
The two entities had already collaborated in the past through a guided tour of the IFIC for members of RED Proyecto Social, but the health crisis caused by the global pandemic of 2020 suspended these co-organised activities The collaboration between IFIC and the charity promises to bring the institute’s science and research areas to people with disabilities who are members of the association. The planned initiatives include outreach talks and guided tours of the institute to show them the IFIC’s facilities, the research projects being carried out and the experimental laboratories it houses The main objectives of the RED Social Project Association are to improve the quality of life of people with physical, organic, sensory, sensory, intellectual or mental disabilities, and to defend their rights. One of its main challenges is to ensure that the digital divide does not become a factor of exclusion, but rather a tool for inclusion.
