Salaries are highly dependent on education, industry, region and age. The following information is based on the median value. This means that 50% of employees earn more and 50% less.

Gross monthly salary (median)

In 2022, the gross monthly salary in the private and public sectors (all education levels and all ages combined) on a full-time basis was 2,341.35 euros. With the average for public sector workers being €2,800 while those in the private sector were €1,901 (source INE 2021/22)

Salaries of university graduates

The gross monthly salary (average) for workers with higher education was €2,845.24 in 2022 (all age groups). Note that this varies greatly depending on the university degree or higher degree you have completed, your experience and the city where you work.
